Things will be slightly different during the month of August when there will be "quiet" Masses on August 14 and 21. We are resuming a vacation time for musicians and singers and a break from music for the entire parish.
The only exception to singing will be at the 11am Solemn Mass when the parts of the Mass: the Sanctus, Mystery of Faith, and the Agnus Dei will be chanted in Latin. We're chanting in Latin since the melodies and timing are so much easier than trying to sing without music accompaniment in English.
You might have noticed that we have been preparing for this the last two Sundays by singing in Latin with no accompaniment. We will be following Father's lead in singing the parts of the Mass. I should mention that Father even practiced at at least one morning Mass and we were all able to sing the Latin!
