Dear Friends in Christ:
“Proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient.” (II Tim. 4.2) Taking St. Paul’s counsel to heart, we have been and will continue to be the voice of reason and hope for women and children, offering an alternative to the unbridled practice of abortion with the passing of Proposition One.
The long course of the eugenic ideology of abortion has plagued and poisoned the nation. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should not be denied to those deemed disposable. Ramming the expansion of abortion into our state constitution and making California a so-called "abortion sanctuary" makes the patient, persistent work of proclaiming the gospel of life more necessary. We reaffirm the many vital works of mercy to protect and promote the sanctuary that is the human family. We were born ready for this moment.
Against this lamentable ideological tide, with strong convictions we have held and will continue to hold to the undeniable truth of the dignity of the human life conceived in the womb, as well as the sanctity of life shared between mother and child.
I urge all of us to be the persistently joyful messengers of the gospel of life and the hopeful companions that children and their mothers need. Together, may we come to share in the fullness of life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Respectfully,
